What you actually do

You leave your hotel in Madeira and spend 8 hours travelling with a local guide who speaks English, Portuguese, Spanish, or French. The route covers Funchal, Cabo Girão, Porto Moniz, Seixal, and Fanal. You stop at a glass platform suspended over the cliff at Cabo Girão, which sits at an altitude of 580 m (1903 ft) and stands as one of Europe’s highest promontories.

The operator does not run a wheelchair accessible service, so you need to walk between viewpoints. Hotel pickup is included before you set off.

How far to trust the rating

The tour carries a score of 4.9 from 343 reviews. In a category of 68 island tours, that review count ranks 12th, placing it in the middle tier for feedback volume. A high score backed by hundreds of votes usually means the experience matches the operator promise, but the sample size remains modest compared to top sellers.

Competitors range from 202 to 5,647 reviews. The operator offers free cancellation, which keeps the risk low if your plans shift.

What happens on the day

You meet your guide at your hotel door, confirm the group size, and board the vehicle. The coach follows the planned route without stopping at a central terminal. At Cabo Girão, you walk to the glass platform and pay the €5 entry fee directly at the gate.

In Porto Moniz, you head to the natural pools or the aquarium, hand over your chosen ticket, and explore at your own pace. The guide waits nearby or joins you inside. Rain slows the walk between viewpoints, but the itinerary rarely changes unless the roads become unsafe.

You return to your hotel once the 8 hours conclude.

Who this suits, and who it doesn't

This itinerary works well if you want a single day that hits 4 distinct locations without switching operators. The fixed price from €69 keeps budgeting simple, and the included hotel pickup removes logistics. travellers who prefer structured sightseeing will appreciate the local guide and clear schedule.

If you want a cheaper option, the East Tour covering Pico Arieiro and Santana runs from €36 for 7 hours. If you need a slower pace focused on wine and meals, the full-day wine tour from Funchal costs from €210 and includes lunch.
